Clif Family’s story began on a bike, where long days of cycling adventures would lead to leisurely evenings of good wine, food and hospitality. Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford started Clif Family in Napa Valley (2004) based on their passion for creating delicious, small batch foods while caring for our people, planet and communities.
They got the inspiration to start the company after taking a trip to one of their favorite places in the world: The Italian Dolomites. They are avid bicyclists so after long days of riding, they would stop into the small Refugio’s nestled in the mountains for good food, good wine, and conversation with good friends. It was these trips and visits to the Italian Refugio’s that made them want to share that experience with friends back at their home in Napa.
They organically farm the grapes, olives, fruit and vegetables, capturing the flavors of Napa Valley at the peak of their seasonal flavor, to go into their wine and food products. They strive to support a healthier, more sustainable world through the enjoyment of wine, food and connection.
